Born in Italy over several centuries ago, terrazzo is a perfect embodiment of the Mediterranean art of living and know-how in floors.  This traditional cement tile allows one to cover inner and external floors, as well as walls with mosaics decorated by colors and a wide choice of designs.

The fabrication technique is unique: the colored motif is cast directly into the tile, from an original mold. As opposed to the painted design this process guarantees an exceptional resistance against deterioration. Terrazzo was very much in fashion at the turn of the century in the Mediterranean and, some terrazzo that date back to that period are still used nowadays; they are even recovered to cover new floors. Today, BlattChaya keeps this traditional craft alive, by making and diversifying a typical element of old Lebanese houses.
