Batroumine is known for her ancient water spring Ain Al-Zarka and her production of local goods such as oil, soap, wine and Arak. Older villagers believe her name originates from Bayt Roumine in Arabic, which translates to “the House of Roumine”, Roumine being a Roman princess who is said to have inhabited this northern gem 1,500 years ago.
