Founder of Blatt Chaya, Edgard Chaya fondly remembers Souk el Bazerkan from his days as a money exchange officer working from his own offices in Downtown Beirut in the 1950s. He would step out in the afternoon onto an archetypal market scene made up of classic small stalls and frantic bartering.
