Translating from Syriac to “water source of the mountain”, Aintoura’s pine-covered valleys are home to the oldest French school in the Middle East, the College Saint Joseph. Established in 1834 with 7 enrolled students, the school’s current student body comprises 5,500 students and accommodates the oldest scouts group in Lebanon.
