Also known as Rashaya al-Wadi, this small-town beauty sits on the western slopes of Mount Hernon. Her red-tiled houses, cobblestone streets and 17th century souk are home to her locals, artists and craftsmen. In 1943, members of the newly-elected Lebanese Government were imprisoned in her citadel. They were released on November 22nd, a date now celebrated as Lebanon’s national independence day.
